I remember that talk by President Kimbol. That's when I began faithfully keeping a journal too. I had written occasionally before that time, but since then, pretty much every day, and like you, have collected as many volumes as years.

I didn't begin at the beginning of my life either, but whenever my writing triggered a memory, I would sink into the memory, and gradually bit by bit my past was revealed. I looked for triggers, and then followed them down their path. It worked for me.

I need to go through my journals and rip out a few pages I'm sure, but it's a task that I put off. They are precious memories and I hate to part with them.

Lately journal writing has become a chore for me. I generally sit down to it once a week, and then play catch up, using it as a memory test, but doing it that way you lose a lot of the emotion felt of the day.

This has inspired me to start. My son Andy has always been a journal writing, not by my example. I will stop regret and start today! I am forever grateful for a grandmother who was a faithful journal writer and now I am able to read her thoughts and feelings from the past put into a book by my Aunt, I know I can do the same, even if I am a little late, late is always better than never!
